Marusya's Birds - Printed Cross-Stitch Fabric

SKU: MB1
£35.50Price
  • Your printed bird fabric has:

    • the opportunity for you to use your own stash of old or part-used threads like the Babushkas, giving a unique result and less waste
    • overlocking to reduce fraying
    • white edges to make stretching & framing easy
    • no chart, symbols or counting, so you can just colour it in with threads!

For creative stitchers of any level.

N.B. Background colour may vary from illustrations.

‘The design has been redrawn digitally and was originally stitched by Marusya (now in her 80’s). She returned to the village of Kupovate after her evacuation in 1986 and lives close to her cousin Hana. She remembers making it in the late 50’s/early 60’s during the time of Soviet rule. I also found another version of it by Maria, who sadly died in 2020 at the age of 92, in the abandoned village of Opachychi. The slight colour variations make each one unique. Both examples were mounted in very similar wooden frames.’                                                     Claire
